BBC crime drama Time returns for third season

The third season of the BBC crime drama ‘Time’ is scheduled to premiere on BBC iPlayer on Sunday, 11 October, followed by a broadcast on BBC One. This installment shifts focus to a young offenders institution, exploring the lives of inmates and staff within the British prison system.

David Tennant stars as custodial manager Bobby Bailey, alongside Daniel Ryan as Freddie Jennings. Siobhan Finneran returns as prison chaplain Marie-Louise. The plot follows a major incident that leads to a clash between Marie-Louise and Bailey, who is grappling with personal crisis and knowledge regarding the circumstances of the tragedy.

Series creator Jimmy McGovern has hinted that this third season may be the final outing for the show, though he noted he has made similar statements previously. The series has been noted for its unflinching portrayal of incarceration, with cast members discussing the complexities of the prison system and the impact of crime on individuals.
