BBC radio presenter Steve Roberts dies at 75

Legendary BBC radio presenter Steve Roberts has passed away at the age of 75. Roberts was a prominent figure in British sports journalism, most notably recognized for his work on BBC Merseyside, where he hosted ‘The Rugby League Club’ for three decades.

The BBC honored the broadcaster on social media, describing him as a “brilliant radio presenter and a perfect professional” and noting that he was a “great friend to many.” Colleagues, including Sky Sports presenter Rob Palmer, paid tribute to his enthusiasm and professionalism.

In his later years, Roberts transitioned into life coaching and launched the ‘Happy Copycat’ podcast. This past summer, he achieved a personal milestone with the publication of his first book, ‘Not Young Enough to Know Everything.’ He is survived by five grandchildren.
