BBC recommissions LGBTQ+ comedy ‘Smoggie Queens’ for third season

The BBC has confirmed that the British LGBTQ+ comedy series ‘Smoggie Queens’ will return for a third season. Creator, writer and star Phil Dunning said he was "delighted" by the renewal and promised more chaos in the new episodes.

Set in Middlesbrough, the show follows a chosen family of queer friends, allies and drag queens, featuring characters such as Dickie (Phil Dunning), Mam (Mark Benton), Lucinda (Alexandra Mardell), Sal (Patsy Lowe) and Stewart (Elijah Young). Past seasons included cameo appearances by Michelle Visage, Steph McGovern and Charlotte Riley. BBC editor Gregor Sharp praised the series for its unique humor and heartfelt storytelling.
