BBC secures extended free‑to‑air broadcast rights for Wimbledon and Home Nations football
The BBC has renewed its long‑standing partnership with the All England Club, keeping the Wimbledon Championships on free‑to‑air television, radio and digital platforms until 2033. The agreement includes modernised coverage with new storytelling formats and technology upgrades, while the club opted not to seek a higher financial bid.
Separately, the BBC extended its UEFA rights deal for the men’s international teams of Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland until June 2028. The package provides roughly 60 live matches across UEFA Nations League fixtures and Euro 2028 qualifiers, all available on BBC TV, iPlayer and Sounds. Record audiences have been recorded for recent qualifiers, underscoring the partnership’s importance for UK sport broadcasting.
