BBC Secures Wimbledon Broadcast Rights Through 2033

The BBC and the All England Lawn Tennis Club have signed a new agreement extending their historic partnership so that Wimbledon will remain free-to-air for UK audiences through the 2033 Championships. The deal ensures live coverage across BBC TV, iPlayer, Radio 5 Live, Sounds, the BBC Sport website and app, as well as social channels, and introduces a refreshed editorial approach with new presenters, deeper storytelling and enhanced technology.

The BBC highlighted that the 2025 tournament generated 69.3 million online requests across its digital platforms, the highest ever for the event. Alex Kay‑Jelski, director of BBC Sport, said Wimbledon holds a special place in the hearts of UK viewers and the extension allows the broadcaster to continue evolving the coverage. Deborah Jevans, chair of the All England Club, emphasized the commitment to keep Wimbledon freely accessible to the widest possible audience. The 2026 Championships are scheduled for 29 June to 12 July.
