BBC Studios announces gothic horror podcast ‘The Haunted Library’

BBC Studios Audio is launching a new scripted audio series titled ‘The Haunted Library’, a podcast dedicated to classic gothic horror stories. The series will be narrated by Colin Morgan and Katie Leung.

The production will feature enduring works of literature, beginning with Robert Louis Stevenson’s ‘The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde’. Other featured stories include ‘Frankenstein’, ‘The Turn of the Screw’, ‘The Picture of Dorian Gray’, ‘Carmilla’, and ‘The Invisible Man’, alongside works by Edgar Allan Poe, Bram Stoker, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Algernon Blackwood, and M. R. James.

Scheduled to release on 21 September, the series will provide two new episodes each week across major podcast platforms and BBC Sounds. Subscribers to ‘The Haunted Library Plus’ on Apple Podcasts will receive early access and ad-free listening options.
