BBC Studios appoints Sally Habbershaw as President of Global Distribution
BBC Studios has appointed Sally Habbershaw as President of Global Distribution, a newly expanded London-based role. Habbershaw, who joins from Mediawan, will oversee the company’s worldwide content sales, commercial strategy, and content investment priorities. She will report to Zai Bennett, BBC Studios Global Content CEO and Chief Creative Officer.
The appointment follows the departure of US-based Janet Brown in January, as part of a strategic move to centralize distribution operations in the United Kingdom. Habbershaw brings extensive industry experience, having previously held senior positions at All3Media International, AMC Networks, A&E Networks, Viacom, and Paramount. She also serves on the board of BAFTA.
Habbershaw is scheduled to begin her new position on September 29. In her role, she will work across various departments, including scripted, unscripted, kids & family, and audio, to maximize the reach and value of the BBC’s content portfolio.
