BBC's 'Kingdom of the Savanna' wildlife series launches on HBO Max
The BBC Studios Natural History Unit’s new documentary series "Kingdom of the Savanna" premieres on HBO Max on 12 August. Filmed over five years in Zambia’s South Luangwa National Park, the series follows four dominant predator families – a pack of wild dogs, a pride of lions, a clan of leopards and a coalition of hyenas – as they compete for territory and protect their offspring. The programme combines unprecedented close‑up footage with a narrative that highlights the strategic decisions and alliances that shape life on the African savanna.
The series is part of BBC’s ongoing natural‑history output and will be streamed internationally via HBO Max, bringing the remote ecosystem of southern Africa to a global audience.
