BBVA Sant Joan literary prizes open for submissions

The Fundació Antigues Caixes Catalanes (FACC), with support from BBVA, has opened calls for the 47th BBVA Sant Joan Prize and the 2nd BBVA Sant Joan · Joves Talents prize. These awards aim to promote Catalan language writing and support professional writers.

The main BBVA Sant Joan Prize offers 35,000 euros, while the Joves Talents category, specifically for individuals aged 18 to 35, offers 10,000 euros. Winners will also receive royalties through Edicions 62. Both prizes accept unpublished works in various prose formats, including novels, short story collections, essays, and biographies, regardless of the author's nationality or residence.

Original works must be submitted in PDF format via the FACC website by January 15. The winners will be announced in June 2027.
