BC Ferries cancels nightly Crofton-Vesuvius Bay sailings
BC Ferries has announced that the final round-trip sailing between Crofton and Vesuvius Bay will be cancelled five nights a week from October 18 to December 10, 2026. These cancellations, occurring Sunday through Thursday, are necessary to facilitate construction at the Crofton terminal, specifically for a lay-by berth and trestle life extension project.
To maintain evening travel between Crofton and Salt Spring Island during this period, a passenger-only water taxi will be operational.
Construction at the Crofton terminal is projected to continue through summer 2027. The project includes repairs, upgrades to existing structures, and the addition of a new lay-by berth. These improvements are designed to increase safety, reliability, and capacity, and to prepare the route for the anticipated introduction of two-ship service in 2027.
