B.C. Lions defeat Toronto Argonauts to move closer to CFL playoffs
The B.C. Lions secured a 24-17 victory over the Toronto Argonauts at BMO Field, marking their first win at the venue since 2019. The win was driven by kicker Sean Whyte, who set a team record with eight field goals, and a defensive performance that included two turnovers in the final minutes.
Following the win, the Lions moved closer to hosting the Western semifinal on October 31. In related roster news, the team released defensive back Josh Haggerty after he completed a two-game suspension for striking an opposing player.
Additionally, the B.C. Lions and Calgary Stampeders both have the opportunity to clinch CFL playoff berths this week with upcoming victories.
