BC Metalnord completes 33-meter walkway for Tahiti
The French company BC Metalnord has completed the design and manufacture of a 33-meter metallic pedestrian walkway destined for Tahiti. The structure, which weighs 36 tonnes, was designed in kit form to allow for containerized shipping.
Inspired by traditional Tahitian canoe symbols, the walkway is intended for installation at the mouth of the Tipaerui River. The project required over 3,000 hours of fabrication and is expected to take approximately six weeks to reach French Polynesia by sea. The cost of the project is 550,000 euros excluding taxes.
