Bắc Ninh student attacked by dog thieves in retaliation

Phạm Trần Tuấn Phong, a 12th-grade student at Thái Thuận High School in Bắc Ninh, was attacked by two individuals in retaliation for interrupting a dog theft. On the evening of September 25, Phong spotted two suspects attempting to steal a dog and alerted nearby residents, causing the suspects to flee.

Shortly after, the two suspects returned to target Phong. During the confrontation, one suspect struck Phong with a specialized dog-catching stick, and another attempted to strike him in the head with a machete. The blade hit Phong’s helmet, preventing a more severe injury.

Phong, who has practiced martial arts since middle school, managed to defend himself and struggle with the attackers before they fled on a motorcycle. Phong sustained injuries during the incident and required approximately one week of hospital treatment. He noted that he chose to stay and face the attackers to protect two younger companions who were present at the scene.
