BCA and PUNB launch new SME credit schemes in Indonesia and Malaysia

Bank Central Asia (BCA) announced a special credit programme for micro, small and medium enterprises in Indonesia, offering interest rates starting at 5.81% per annum from June 2026 through January 2027. The initiative, called Kredit Multiguna Usaha (KMU) Hari UMKM 2026, includes longer repayment terms to lower installment burdens. BCA Vice President John Kosasih said the support aims to “provide affordable capital, boost production capacity and create new jobs.”

Perbadanan Usahawan Nasional Berhad (PUNB) unveiled three financing schemes for Bumiputera entrepreneurs, allocating RM80 million to assist 220 businesses. Programs such as Prosper Grow Biz Express, Prosper Grow Fuel Up and Prosper Grow Auto Biz offer rates as low as 3.5% annually and financing up to RM1 million with repayment periods up to seven years. PUNB CEO Izwan Zainuddin stressed that timely access to capital “determines whether a business can seize growth opportunities or must postpone them.”
