BCA organizes blood donation drive at Unisma

PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA), through its Bakti BCA program, held a blood donation event titled ‘Gen-Z Berani Donor Darah’ at the Islamic University of Malang (Unisma) on Wednesday, October 14, 2026. The initiative was conducted in collaboration with the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) and the Unisma Islamic Hospital (RSI).

The event successfully collected hundreds of blood bags from students and the university community. This marks the third time BCA has organized a blood donation drive within a campus environment. Hera F. Haryn, EVP of Corporate Communication & Social Responsibility at BCA, stated that the program aims to foster social awareness among the younger generation and promote the importance of regular blood donation for health.

According to World Health Organization (WHO) standards, a country's ideal blood supply should reach approximately 2 percent of its total population. For Indonesia, with a population of roughly 280 million, the annual national requirement is estimated at 5.6 million blood bags. Since 2016, BCA’s blood donation programs have collected more than 18,000 blood bags.
