BCCI and Cricket Australia launch umpire exchange programme
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and Cricket Australia (CA) have implemented an umpire exchange programme designed to provide officials with practical experience in different domestic cricket environments.
Under the arrangement, Australian umpire Ben Treloar will officiate in the 2026-27 Ranji Trophy in India. His scheduled assignments include the match between Delhi and Gujarat in late October, followed by Mumbai against Haryana later in the month. Treloar brings extensive experience from the Big Bash League and various international women’s matches.
Conversely, Indian umpire Parashar Joshi will travel to Australia to officiate in three domestic fixtures. His stint begins in November at the Gabba, where he will stand in a Sheffield Shield match and a One Day Cup game between Queensland and Tasmania. He is also scheduled to officiate a Sheffield Shield match at the Sydney Cricket Ground. Joshi’s background includes officiating in the Indian Premier League and various domestic first-class and T20 competitions.
