BCCI announces IPL 2027 mini-auction and centenary plans

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced that the player auction for the 2027 Indian Premier League (IPL) will take place during the second week of December. This event will serve as the final mini-auction for the 2023-27 cycle.

During the BCCI's 95th Annual General Meeting in Mumbai, the board also outlined plans for grand celebrations to mark the 20th edition of the IPL in 2027. Additionally, the BCCI is preparing for its centenary celebrations, which are scheduled to begin in December 2027 and continue through 2028.

Administrative updates include the election of Arun Singh Dhumal and M Khairul Jamal Majumdar as representatives to the IPL Governing Council. The board also implemented the first revision of umpire and match referee fees since the 2017-18 season, introducing a new four-tier categorization system. Meanwhile, a decision regarding the contract renewal of chief selector Ajit Agarkar remains pending.
