BCCI denies shifting India-Sri Lanka ODI venue from Delhi

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has dismissed reports claiming the opening One Day International (ODI) match between India and Sri Lanka has been moved from Delhi to Ahmedabad.

BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia clarified that the December 13 fixture remains scheduled for Delhi, as per the board’s standard venue allocation policy. The speculation regarding a venue shift arose due to reports of ongoing construction work at Delhi’s Arun Jaitley Stadium. While Ahmedabad is scheduled to host the third ODI on December 19, Saikia stated that no decision has been made to alter the opening match's location.

Sri Lanka is set to tour India from December 13 to 27, 2026, for a white-ball series consisting of three ODIs and three T20Is. Following the opening match in Delhi, the ODI series will move to Bengaluru and Ahmedabad. The subsequent T20I series is scheduled to take place in Rajkot, Cuttack, and Pune.
