BCCI removes Rohit Yadav from India U19 squad over age fraud

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has removed spinner Rohit Yadav from the India Under-19 squads for the upcoming home series against Australia due to age discrepancies. Following investigations by the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) and the BCCI age verification wing, inconsistencies were found in Yadav’s documentation, with birth years listed across different records ranging from 2006 to 2010.

As a result of the age fraud findings, the BCCI has imposed a two-year ban on Yadav, prohibiting him from participating in all domestic and age-group competitions.

To fill the vacancies for the series, which includes three one-day matches and two multi-day matches scheduled between September 18 and October 8, 2026, the BCCI has named replacements. Aryan Savsani has joined the one-day squad, while Tanmay Baloda has been added to the multi-day squad. Lakshya Raichandani will captain the one-day side, while Yashvardhan Chauhan will lead the multi-day squad.
