BCCI to hold AGM on September 18 with IPL Chairman elections

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will hold its Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Mumbai on September 18. The meeting features several high-profile administrative agendas, most notably the election for two positions within the Indian Premier League (IPL) Governing Council, including the post of IPL Chairman. The current chairman, Arun Singh Dhumal, will be succeeded following the election process.

Other key items on the agenda include the appointment of BCCI representatives to the International Cricket Council (ICC) and the selection of an ombudsman and ethics officer. Additionally, the board will consider a proposal to grant associate membership to the Cricket Association Andaman and Nicobar. If approved, this move aims to expand the sport's infrastructure and talent development within the archipelago, though the team would not immediately enter domestic tournaments.

The election timeline involves members submitting representative names by August 31, with the voter list scheduled for release on September 1. Nominations will be accepted on September 10, and the final results are expected to be announced during the AGM on September 18.
