BCCI to part ways with senior physio Kamlesh Jain amid player injury concerns

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is reportedly preparing to part ways with senior Team India physiotherapist Kamlesh Jain. The decision follows a series of frequent injuries to key players over the last several months, which has caused concern among national selectors and head coach Gautam Gambhir.

Reports indicate that Jain is currently serving his notice period. The medical and sports science setup has come under scrutiny due to recurring fitness issues that have disrupted team planning. As the squad prepares for the upcoming T20I series against Afghanistan, members of the sports science and support staff are expected to travel to Japan for the Asian Games.

In related team news, Washington Sundar has returned to training in Delhi after being cleared for the Afghanistan series. Meanwhile, pace bowling coach Morne Morkel is temporarily in South Africa due to an expired work visa, and players Jasprit Bumrah and Nitish Kumar Reddy are expected to join the squad shortly.
