BCD Travel announces major leadership succession plan

BCD Travel has announced a major leadership transition as part of its long-term succession planning. Marcus Eklund, formerly the Global Managing Director of FCM, will join the company as Global Chief Commercial Officer on September 14. Eklund succeeds Mike Janssen, who is set to retire at the end of 2026.

The restructuring also includes changes in the Americas region. Craig Bailey, President of the Americas, will retire on June 30, 2027. Dave Mitchell, currently President of BCD Mid-Markets and GetGoing, will transition to President of the Americas. Additionally, Tanya Green will become President of BCD Mid-Markets effective January 1, 2027.

Global CEO Stephan Baars stated that these transitions are designed to ensure leadership continuity and reinforce the company’s strategic direction. Eklund brings extensive experience in sales, marketing, and travel technology, with a focus on AI-enabled innovation and digital platforms.
