BCI and ANJE address entrepreneur burnout in Maputo

BCI and the National Association of Young Entrepreneurs (ANJE) hosted a roundtable discussion in Maputo focused on “Burnout in the Entrepreneur – Causes, Prevention, and Treatment.” Held as part of the ‘Yellow September’ mental health awareness campaign, the event addressed the intense pressures faced by young entrepreneurs and the impact of prolonged stress on individual well-being and business sustainability.

Experts at the event analyzed the physiological effects of chronic stress and discussed serious mental health risks, including suicide. The discussion emphasized practical prevention strategies, such as recognizing warning signs, managing pressure, and seeking timely professional support.

Tatiana Vaz, BCI’s Director of Communication and Brand, noted that supporting leadership well-being is essential for corporate sustainability, stating, “Caring for the well-being of those who lead is also caring for the sustainability of companies.”
