BCI and ChildFund inaugurate water borehole in Mandlakazi

Banco Comercial e de Investimentos (BCI), in partnership with ChildFund Moçambique, has inaugurated a new water borehole at the Eduardo Mondlane Primary School in Maússe, located in the Mandlakazi district of Gaza province.

The initiative is part of the “Uma Escola Daqui com Água Potável para Criança” project and coincides with BCI’s 30th anniversary. The infrastructure is designed to improve access to clean water, hygiene, and health for hundreds of students, teachers, and staff, while also benefiting the surrounding communities in the Mapandane locality.

During the inauguration, BCI Administrator George Mandawa stated that the borehole represents health, education, and hope for a better future by providing the necessary conditions for children to study and grow. Mandlakazi District Administrator Eceu Muianga also expressed gratitude, noting that the new water source significantly improves dignity and learning conditions for the school and the community.
