BCP Council and Dorset Community Foundation launch homelessness prevention fund

The Dorset Community Foundation (DCF), in partnership with BCP Council, has launched the BCP Homelessness Prevention Fund to provide grants of up to £30,000 to grassroots charities and community groups. The initiative is funded through the Homelessness, Rough Sleeping and Domestic Abuse Grant (HRSDAG) provided by the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government.

The fund aims to intervene early in the lives of individuals at risk of homelessness due to socio-economic factors. Targeted support includes youth work for young people in deprivation, assistance for individuals being discharged from hospitals, and support for those leaving prison, care, or temporary accommodation.

Grants are intended to help organizations build emotional resilience, improve employability, and provide resources for staff and volunteers to guide at-risk individuals toward relevant services before their situations escalate into crises.
