BCPMEX to invest $700 million in Yucatán technological center
BCPMEX, a Mexican subsidiary of BCP Group, has announced a 700 million dollar investment to establish a Technological Development Center in Yucatán. The project aims to bolster the region's capabilities in engineering, automation, artificial intelligence, and energy transition.
Announced by Governor Joaquín Díaz Mena and BCP Group CEO Alexander Ramón Mendoza Márquez, the initiative is expected to create 340 jobs, including 110 direct and 230 indirect positions. The project will be implemented in stages, beginning with an operational base at the Yucatán Science and Technology Park to serve the energy market in southeastern Mexico.
Subsequent phases of the development plan to include manufacturing, assembly, and the integration of specialized equipment. The company also intends to develop solutions for clean energy sectors, such as solar, wind, and green hydrogen, while utilizing local infrastructure like the Port of Progreso to support large-scale distribution and export.
