Democratic Union for Integration accuses government of excluding Albanians

The Democratic Union for Integration (BDI/DUI) has accused the government of systemic exclusion of Albanians from state institutions, culture, and sports. The party claims that during the 35th anniversary of independence celebrations, the Albanian language was entirely ignored in official state proceedings.

Furthermore, BDI highlighted that no Albanians, including athletes or coaches, were among the recipients of the ‘8 September’ state awards. The party characterized this as a deliberate policy of discrimination rather than coincidence, arguing that while Albanians are utilized to represent the state in international competitions, they are rendered invisible when it comes to official state recognition and rewards.

BDI also directed criticism toward the VLEN coalition, accusing its members of remaining silent despite previous promises of fair and adequate representation for the Albanian community. The party is demanding full transparency regarding the selection criteria and the composition of the commission responsible for the awards.
