BDI accuses VLEN coalition of corruption and judicial pressure
The BDI party has issued a statement criticizing the VLEN political coalition, accusing it of incompetence and attempting to exert undue pressure on the judiciary to avoid accountability. BDI claims that VLEN is attempting to substitute legal principles with political maneuvering to protect its members from prosecution.
The allegations include specific claims of financial misconduct involving VLEN members. Izet Mexhiti and Visar Ganiu are suspected of causing over 250 million euros in damages through unauthorized constructions, with Mexhiti also facing scrutiny regarding his role as Minister of Environment. Additionally, Burim Latifi is accused of causing 19 million euros in budget damage, and Nedim Rama is among others named in the allegations. BDI has called for European-standard justice to ensure these individuals face legal consequences based on evidence rather than party interests.
