BDI condemns Stojance Angellova over remarks on 2001 conflict
The political party BDI has issued a strong condemnation of statements made by Stojance Angellova regarding the 2001 conflict in North Macedonia. Angellova reportedly stated, “in 2001 we attacked with tanks, while today we protect with planes,” in reference to Nikushtak and the Likova municipality.
BDI characterized this language as unacceptable and hateful, arguing that such rhetoric tramples on the wounds of citizens and families affected by the 2001 violence. The party asserted that these comments reflect a mindset that views the Ohrid Agreement as a threat rather than a foundation for peace and coexistence. BDI emphasized that the agreement was designed to ensure the state protects all citizens regardless of ethnicity or location, and called for an end to divisive language.
