BDI criticizes appointment of Zoran Ljutkov as culture coordinator

The Democratic Union for Integration (BDI) has criticized the appointment of former Culture Minister Zoran Ljutkov as the national coordinator for culture. BDI claims this move demonstrates that despite the Ministry of Culture being assigned to the VLEN coalition following a government restructuring, real political control over cultural policies remains with VMRO-DPMNE.

BDI argued that while VLEN holds the ministerial post and appoints staff, strategic priorities and major decision-making continue to be dictated by the government's largest partner. The party described the appointment as a “humiliation” for Albanian partners in the government, asserting that the creation of this new role effectively returns cultural direction to Ljutkov and VMRO-DPMNE.
