BDI leader criticizes VLEN coalition structure and VMRO-DPMNE influence

BDI Vice President Bujar Osmani has criticized the VLEN coalition, describing it as a ‘negative coalition’ built on opposition to BDI rather than a shared political vision. Osmani argues that the alliance lacks a common doctrine, an accepted hierarchy, or an autonomous decision-making center, consisting instead of fragmented political elements with diverse ideologies and personal ambitions.

According to Osmani, the coalition's structure allows VMRO-DPMNE to act as an external arbiter. He claims that since BDI's departure from the government, VMRO-DPMNE has gained control over internal coalition matters, such as ministerial appointments, directorate controls, and local structure strengthening. This creates a ‘mechanism of control through fragmentation,’ where individual components of VLEN maintain stronger vertical relationships with VMRO-DPMNE than horizontal relationships with their own coalition partners.

Osmani further alleges that VLEN serves as an institutional instrument to give a Macedonian project an Albanian appearance, using Albanian ministers to maintain the facade of a multi-ethnic government while gradually shifting state institutions toward a Macedonian identity.
