BDx Data Center project in Jatiluhur suspended over permit issues

The construction of a Rp3.5 trillion AI-based data center by BDx Data Centers in the Jatiluhur area, Purwakarta, has been temporarily suspended due to incomplete environmental and building permits.

West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi clarified that the suspension was triggered by the developer's failure to finalize the Environmental Impact Assessment (AMDAL) and Building Approval (PBG). Mulyadi emphasized that the halt was not due to bureaucratic hurdles but rather the negligence of the project's consultants, who had not yet submitted the necessary data. He also denied rumors that he had officially inaugurated the facility, stating his visit was intended solely to inspect the site and verify legal compliance.

Purwakarta Regent Saepul Bahri Binzein reiterated that the developer must resolve the AMDAL and PBG requirements before work can resume. The local government is currently awaiting the submission of documents from BDx's consultants. Concerns have also been raised regarding the project's significant water requirements, which are projected to reach up to 33,000 cubic meters per day during future expansion phases.
