Be Pro Be Proud skilled trades tour visits Montgomery
The Be Pro Be Proud 10th Anniversary Tour visited the Alabama National Fair in Montgomery, providing students and families with interactive demonstrations of high-demand technical careers. The tour featured a tractor-trailer equipped with virtual reality simulators and stations focused on trades such as welding, electrical work, HVAC, heavy equipment operation, and advanced manufacturing.
Executive Director Andrew Parker noted that the initiative aims to present technical careers as a primary choice for young people. The event coincided with First Responders Day, offering free admission to emergency service professionals and their families. The tour and First Responders Day celebrations were supported by the Meta Montgomery Data Center, which is part of a larger $1.5 billion investment by Meta in Alabama’s capital region.
