be quiet! announces Light Mount TKL keyboard and Mousepad XL
The German brand be quiet! has announced the release of the Light Mount TKL mechanical keyboard and the Mousepad XL. The Light Mount TKL is a tenkeyless (80%) keyboard featuring a triple-layer dampening system designed to absorb resonance and reduce typing noise through foam placement between the switches, the PCB, and the bottom of the case.
The keyboard introduces Silent V2 switches, available in two variants: Silent Orange (linear) and Silent Black (tactile). These switches come factory-lubricated and feature thicker gold-plated contacts. Additional hardware features include a brushed aluminum top plate, PBT double-shot keycaps, a modular magnetic palm rest, and a 3D aluminum media wheel for volume control. It also supports 5-pin MX-style hot-swappable switches and includes the Quick Tap (SOCD) function, which prioritizes the most recent input when opposing directional keys are pressed simultaneously.
Customization is managed via the IO Center software for Windows or a web-based version for Chrome, allowing for ARGB lighting adjustments, macro programming, and function key remapping. The accompanying Mousepad XL is a 900 x 500mm surface with a 3mm anti-slip rubber base and stitched edges. Both products are scheduled for availability starting August 25, with the keyboard priced at US$139.90 and the mousepad at US$34.90.
