Beabadoobee releases ‘Pylon’, shifting toward a grunge-rock sound

Beabadoobee, born Beatrice Laus, has released her fourth studio album, ‘Pylon’. The 14-track, 41-minute project marks a significant stylistic shift from her previous bedroom pop and pop-rock sounds toward a ‘90s grunge and Midwest emo rock aesthetic.

The album explores themes of isolation, loneliness, romance, and the complexities of navigating one's mid-twenties. Musically, the record is characterized by heavy electric guitars and an angsty, electric tone. Notable tracks include the title track ‘Pylon’, which uses electrical humming to underscore themes of distance, and ‘Sun Has Set’, which addresses the end of friendships.
