Beach safety measures implemented in Mazatlán and Málaga
In Mazatlán, Mexico, authorities have restricted access to certain beach areas following the death of a diver at Olas Altas. Mayor Estrella Palacios Domínguez announced that the Municipal Police Aquatic Rescue Squadron has increased surveillance along the coastline to prevent further accidents in high-risk zones. The State Attorney General's Office is currently investigating the incident.
Separately, in Málaga, Spain, a group of lifeguards completed a solidarity challenge to promote maritime safety and environmental cleanliness. Led by Víctor López Ruz, the team traveled 41 kilometers by kayak from El Cable in Marbella to the Benalmádena marina. During the nine-hour journey, the participants collected plastic waste from the sea while navigating through changing weather conditions.
