Beach volleyball competitions held in Battipaglia and Caorle
Beach volleyball competitions are underway in Italy, featuring both European youth championships and the Italian national finals.
At the Under-20 European Beach Volleyball Championships in Battipaglia, Italian teams have begun the main draw. In the women's tournament, Sofia Bruzzone and Ilaria Nozza secured two victories against Ireland and Moldova. Rebecca Cottafava and Viola Durand earned one win and one loss, while Micol Lafuenti and Margherita Coretti faced two defeats. In the men's draw, Matteo Iurisci and Francesco Denina and Simone Bertoncello and Riccardo Santomassimo both secured 2-0 victories, whereas Simone Fabbri and Jack Bernardini suffered a loss to a Swiss pair.
Meanwhile, Caorle is hosting the 2026 Italian Absolute Beach Volleyball Championship Finals from September 4 to 6 at the Sport Village. This marks the return of the event to the Venetian coast after a three-year absence. The tournament follows an eight-stage circuit and features a format including pool play and a 16-pair main draw. Defending champions Ranghieri–Alfieri and Gottardi–Orsi Toth are scheduled to compete in the qualification rounds to enter the main draw.
