Beachcombers Academy expands child care capacity in Fanny Bay

Beachcombers Academy and Little Oysters Child Care have announced the opening of 44 new licensed child care spaces in Fanny Bay, British Columbia. The expansion, marked by a ceremonial ribbon cutting on September 10, will triple the capacity at Little Oysters.

The project was supported by the ChildCareBC New Spaces Fund, which utilizes provincial investments and federal funding through the Canada-British Columbia Canada-wide Early Learning and Child Care Agreement. This initiative follows a federal announcement of an additional $5.4 billion investment intended to support affordable child care across Canada.

Beachcombers Academy is a non-profit operated by the Beachcombers Education Society, providing care for children aged 30 months to school age and academic instruction for students from kindergarten to grade 7. The renovation and expansion work was completed by Qualicum-based MKM Projects.
