BeamNG.drive launches on PlayStation 5 in early access

The soft-body physics driving simulator BeamNG.drive has arrived on PlayStation 5 in early access. The console release coincides with the v0.40 update, which introduces local split-screen support and technical enhancements such as FidelityFX Super Resolution 3 for base consoles and PSSR for the PlayStation 5 Pro.

Players can access approximately 12 open-world environments, ranging from tropical jungles to urban highways. The game features dozens of customizable vehicles, including compact cars and heavy trucks, with deep mechanical tuning options for engines, suspensions, and wheels. Available modes include Free Drive sandbox play, a Career Mode for fleet management, and various Scenarios such as police chases and time trials.

While the game maintains its signature realistic damage modeling, the PlayStation 5 version does not currently support mods at launch. The Standard Edition is priced at €21.99 on the PlayStation Store.
