BeamNG.drive to launch on PlayStation 5 in October 2026
BeamNG.drive is scheduled to launch on PlayStation 5 in Early Access on October 19, 2026. The console version will feature the game’s signature soft-body physics engine, which simulates vehicle components and structural damage in real time through a complex network of nodes and physical elements.
Recent gameplay footage from a pre-release build on PS5 Pro has showcased the game’s adaptation to consoles, including support for local split-screen multiplayer for up to four players. While the simulation runs smoothly under typical driving conditions, performance drops were observed when spawning a large number of vehicles, reflecting the high CPU demands of the physics engine seen on PC.
The console release will initially not support mods or virtual reality (VR). The game offers extensive customization for various vehicle types, including cars and trucks, allowing players to modify engines, suspensions, and transmissions.
