BeamNG. drive to launch on PlayStation 5 on October 19

The driving simulator BeamNG. drive is scheduled to launch on PlayStation 5 on October 19, 2026. Developed by the Bremen-based studio BeamNG GmbH, the title will arrive in Early Access, allowing the developers to continue refining the game based on community feedback.

The game is distinguished by its sophisticated soft-body physics engine, which simulates real-time vehicle deformation and component interaction, such as suspension and engine damage, rather than using pre-set animations.

The console release coincides with the v0.40 update for the PC version. Key features for the PS5 launch include local split-screen multiplayer, a new vehicle available from day one, and optimized performance technologies. Specifically, the standard PS5 will utilize FSR 3 upscaling, while the PS5 Pro will support Sony’s PSSR (PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution) for enhanced visual fidelity.

Players will have access to 12 open-world maps featuring diverse environments like deserts, jungles, and urban streets. Gameplay modes include Free Roam, Career Mode, Scenarios, and Time Trials. While the PC version is known for extensive modding, developers noted that mod support on PS5 is being explored but will not be available at launch.
