Břežany wind farm to replace five turbines with two larger units

In the Znojmo region, WEB Větrná energie is undertaking a unique wind energy repowering project at the Břežany wind farm. The project involves replacing five existing Vestas V52 turbines, which have a combined capacity of 4.25 MW, with two much larger Vestas V150 turbines.

The new turbines will have capacities of 4.2 MW and 6 MW respectively, bringing the total installed capacity of the new park to 10.2 MW. The new structures will reach a rotor axis height of 166 meters. The first turbine will utilize existing cabling, while the second will be connected to a substation in Hrušovany nad Jevišovkou via new lines.

Preparatory work for road restoration and cable laying began in August 2026. The demolition of the original turbines is scheduled for the turn of 2026 and 2027, with the assembly of the new turbines planned for spring 2027 and completion expected in early May. The project has received local support following community surveys and cooperation agreements with the municipality.
