BYU quarterback Bear Bachmeier began his sophomore season by leading the Cougars against Utah Tech. The reigning Big 12 Freshman of the Year recorded 9.9 yards per attempt during the matchup, a figure that ranks fourth in the Big 12.

Bachmeier demonstrated high accuracy during the game, with metrics indicating that nearly all of his passes were catchable, excluding one pass batted at the line of scrimmage.
