Game Freak's Beast of Reincarnation launches worldwide on Aug 4, 2026

Game Freak’s new action‑RPG Beast of Reincarnation released globally on 4 August 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC (Steam and Microsoft Store). The launch is simultaneous worldwide, so players in North America gain access on 3 August 2026 (evening), while Europe, Asia and Oceania start on the early hours of 4 August according to local time zones. The game is also available from day one on Xbox Game Pass (both console and PC). No early‑access or pre‑order advantage is offered; all editions—standard (US $59.99/€59.99) and digital deluxe (US $69.99/€69.99)—release at the same moment and contain only cosmetic extras.

Set in a post‑apocalyptic Japan in the year 4026, players control Emma, a “Sealer” afflicted by the Blight, and her canine companion Koo. Their bond drives both real‑time sword combat and tactical commands that can be slowed or paused to issue special abilities. Three difficulty levels (Story, Normal, Hard) cater to a broad audience. System requirements for PC range from a minimum Intel i5‑8400/AMD Ryzen 5 3600 with 16 GB RAM and a GTX 1070, to a recommended RTX 3060/AMD RX 6700 XT.

Early reviews are mixed, with Metacritic at 73/100; critics praise the combat and atmosphere but note technical and narrative shortcomings. A piracy leak surfaced online a few days before launch, though the developers have not commented. The game’s launch marks Game Freak’s most ambitious departure from its Pokémon franchise to date.
