Beat Shazam's future uncertain as season 8 ratings are evaluated

The musical game show Beat Shazam, hosted by Jamie Foxx with his daughter Corinne Foxx as DJ, aired its eighth season on FOX. The season featured the series' 100th episode and themed contests such as "Ladies Night," NFL fan teams, and other special formats.

Nielsen data show that the previous seventh season averaged a 0.22 rating in the 18‑49 demographic and attracted 1.31 million viewers nationwide. Updated ratings for season 8 have been posted, but the numbers have not yet been compared to network benchmarks for renewal decisions. As of July 31 2026, FOX has not announced whether Beat Shazam will be renewed for a ninth season or cancelled, leaving the show's future in limbo.

Industry observers note that higher‑rated series are typically renewed, while lower‑rated ones face cancellation. The show's continuation will depend on the latest audience metrics and FOX's assessment of its performance relative to other programming.
