Audi F1 team announces departure of Beat Zehnder

Audi has announced that Beat Zehnder will leave the Audi F1 team at the end of December 2026. The decision comes as part of a restructuring of team operations in preparation for the 2027 season.

Zehnder, 60, has been a central figure at the Hinwil-based racing organization for 39 years, having joined Sauber Motorsport in 1988. His career spanned the team’s transition from sports car racing, including Le Mans victories in 1989 and 1990, to its Formula 1 debut in 1993. He served as team manager for over two decades and participated in 601 consecutive Grands Prix.

In his most recent role as Director of Signature Programs and Operations, Zehnder managed the team’s heritage activities and historical vehicle collections.
