Beatrice Egli introduces new Swiss-inspired character to Starlight Express

The musical ‘Starlight Express’ in Bochum has introduced a new character, a train named ‘Ticktack’, which premiered on September 3. The character is inspired by the Swiss Glacier Express panorama train.

Swiss singer and presenter Beatrice Egli served as the official godmother for the new addition, presenting the character to the public. Unlike other competing trains in the show, Ticktack is designed to represent serenity and the experience of travel rather than pure speed. The character's design was developed under the direction of Arlene Phillips, with costume and set designer John Napier drawing direct inspiration from his own travels on the Glacier Express.
