Beau Welling re-elected as World Curling President

Beau Welling has been re-elected as the President of World Curling for a second four-year term during the Annual General Assembly held in Bratislava, Slovakia. Welling secured 75.61% of the vote, defeating Australian candidate Hugh Millikin.

During the assembly, several Board Directors were also elected to four-year terms: Robin Niven of Scotland, Karen Wauters of Luxembourg, and Roselle Gonsalves of Canada. Additionally, the Argentina and Singapore curling associations progressed from conditional to provisional membership, while the Curling Federation of Turkmenistan was suspended due to non-payment of subscriptions.

The Portuguese Winter Sports Federation (FDI-Portugal) used the assembly to advocate for the evolution of competitive formats to better support emerging federations. Representatives argued that new structures are necessary to allow countries lacking major resources or athlete numbers to develop and progress within the sport.
