Beauer unveils X8 expandable camper trailer
French manufacturer Beauer has unveiled the X8, its largest expandable camper trailer to date, at the 2026 Caravan Salon in Düsseldorf. The vehicle utilizes a telescopic principle to expand its interior living space up to three times its original size.
When folded for transport, the trailer measures approximately 21.8 feet long and 6.7 feet wide. Upon pressing a button, electric cylinders activate a 60-second transformation process that extends the width to approximately 15.7 feet, creating up to 30 square meters of interior space. The design features nesting furniture that automatically moves into place during expansion.
The X8 is designed to accommodate up to eight people and is available in various configurations, including layouts that separate the kitchen from the living area or provide a single-bedroom setup. Amenities include two bedrooms with double beds, a kitchen with a refrigerator and sink, a bathroom with a shower and toilet, and optional features such as air conditioning, a dishwasher, and a washing machine. The unit weighs 2,600 kg with a 100 kg payload capacity.
