Bebe Cool faces dispute over unpaid campaign worker payments

A dispute has emerged regarding unpaid wages for creatives and bloggers following the 2026 presidential campaign in Uganda. Several individuals have accused musician and political mobilizer Bebe Cool of failing to settle outstanding payments for work performed during the campaign period.

More than 40 members of the Silent Majority Media Team issued a statement defending Bebe Cool, distancing themselves from personal attacks directed at him. The group stated that while 23 days of payments remain outstanding, Bebe Cool provided logistical support, equipment, and personal funds to assist members during the campaign. They noted that Bebe Cool has maintained that the remaining funds will be cleared once he receives facilitation from President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.

Eddy Kenzo, a singer and senior presidential advisor on creatives, expressed sympathy for the unpaid workers, stating they deserved compensation for their efforts. However, Kenzo declined to intervene directly in the dispute due to past disagreements with Bebe Cool, noting he could only act if an official complaint is lodged through his office.
